Microdermabrasion

WHAT IS MICRODERMABRASION?

Microdermabrasion is a non-invasive cosmetic procedure. It uses a mechanical process to exfoliate or temporarily remove the outermost layers of the skin’s epidermis called the stratum corneum.

By encouraging skin renewal, Microdermabrasion helps reduce sun damage and superficial dark spots (hyper pigmentation). It also helps to diminish fine lines, wrinkles, and shallow acne scars.
In addition, its controlled skin exfoliation process increases skin penetration by other skin products, medications and serums by between 10% and 50%.

MEDI-FACT:

Because your skin typically regenerates every 30 days, Microdermabrasion only provides temporary skin improvements. It should ideally be repeated every two to four weeks to achieve ongoing improvement.

HOW IT WORKS:

Our doctors use a sophisticated new-generation Microdermabrasion device that is capable of rapid vibrations. The device’s interchangeable head features an abrasive silicon carbide tip.

After tiny exfoliating crystals have been sprayed onto the skin, the head gently removes the ‘horny’ stratum corneum layer of the epidermis. It does this by performing rotating motions on the face and facial indentations.

WHY IT CAN HELP YOU:

The multiple pulse actions used in the Microdermabrasion process encourage skin tissue circulation. They also stimulate the production of new collagen, resulting in a fresher, more radiant appearance.

RESULTS: WHAT TO EXPECT :

After the first treatment, cleansed skin instantly regains its clarity, appearing smoother, firmer and glowing.

For best results and depending on your skin type, it is recommended to have one Microdermabrasion session once a month or as needed.

KEY FEATURES AND BENEFITS:

  • Suitable for all skin types and colors
  • Virtually painless, with a few vibrations being the only sensation experienced during treatment
  • Minimal to no recovery time – most patients are able to resume normal daily activities afterwards
  • It is most effective at removingunwanted skin pigmentation such as age spots, dull skin and brown spots
  • Easy, non-invasive rejuvenative procedure that causes no skin color change or scarring.

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW:

Microdermabrasion sessions can typically last anywhere from five to 60 minutes.

The skin may be slightly pink or red after a Microdermabrasion session, but this is temporary.
It usually fades completely within 24 hours.

You will get the most benefit fromMicrodermabrasion therapy if you avoid future skin damage and adopt sensible sun safety habits.

Minimize sun exposure, use a broad spectrum UVA/UVB sunscreen with an SPF of at least 30+ and avoid tanning beds to protect against harmful ultraviolet (UV) radiation.
